Evernote

One of the important products that I have started using in the process of starting this business is Evernote. This is one of those applications that you really do not know you need until you start using it. Think of it as bookmarks that actually work. The Evernote logo is an elephant, since they ‘never forget’. Describes the product really.

The cool thing about Evernote is that when you bookmark something, you can make comments and also tag it with keywords. Just that would be great. But it also takes a snapshot of the page, or a section of the page for future reference. How many times have you found information, bookmarked it, and then gone back years later to find that the content has been removed or the site no longer exists. Evernote keeps a copy of everything, just for you.

And using more than one computer is not an issue since it is all stored on ‘The Cloud’.

The search capabilities are good too. They allow you not only to search the name of the pages that you are interested in, but allow you to search the content too. This can be useful if you are trying to find something that you know you have seen, and just cannot work out the right Google keywords.

So, my recommendation is for Evernote. Once we have more people working for the company, we will be subscribing to the business service too
