Ordering from Suppliers
Here is the situation. Some suppliers offer free shipping over a certain amount. One of our regular suppliers does this, but the free shipping can be notoriously slow, taking several weeks to arrive. Wherever possible, and where financially prudent, I tend to pay extra for the expedited EMS shipping. And since the value of the order is over a certain amount, expedited shipping is a bit cheaper than it would have been otherwise.
Unfortunately, sometimes things go wrong. My latest order was going to be $0.20 below the threshold for free and reduced price shipping, so I ordered something from them that they had in stock costing $0.90. So, rather than delay the order of this item that I really did not need whilst they were preparing the other items, I just got an email saying that it had been shipped separately. Determining if this is great customer service or a huge waste shall be left as a job for the reader.
