Save Power Kits – Available From Your Local Library
I was doing some work at my local library here in suburban Sydney a few days back, and saw the attached advertisement on the wall. This is not the sort of thing Redshift Wireless would normally be promoting, since it is a Government program which we are not involved with at all. But since we are in the business of helping save money with Air Conditioning costs, it struck me as a great idea.
If nothing else, it will might encourage people to find out about Redshift Wireless’ unique Internet Control kits for existing Air Conditioners, allowing them to make significant energy savings.
The Save Power Kit contains:
- A professional energy meter
- A thermometer
- A Surface temperature thermometer
- A Stopwatch
- Instructions
Together, these tools allow the user to determine where their energy is going, and help the user make improvements. I do not know how many libraries have access to this kit, but a quick Google search suggests that quite a few do. Further searching gives the web site for the Electricity and Water Ombudsman of NSW (EWON), where a list of all the libraries that should have the kit are listed. The photo above comes from the Narellan Library, which is operated by Camden Council. For those that have not heard of EWON, it is the organization that can help mediate Electricity and Water problems in NSW.
The one problem with the kit that I did find is that the poster refers to a web site that has unfortunately been shut down. But I believe that most of the content has been moved into the links I have mentioned above.
