Greetings, and welcome to Redshift Wireless.

I guess the first thing I should do is introduce myself. My name is Darryl Smith, and I am the founder of the company. At least initially, I will be in charge of product concepts. Right now, since we are still developing our products, I am unable to tell you what they are, but I can tell you a few things. Redshift Wireless has one big aim.

We want to help you save money!

The idea is that you should be able to take any of our products and make your life better and see that either your energy consumption is going down, or your energy consumption is occurring at different times of the day to make it cheaper for you.

We are also aiming to make our products easy to use and reliable. We have come to the conclusion that if a product is too difficult to use, then people will not use it. Think about the number of microwave ovens and stoves that do not have their digital clocks set. As a highly educated engineer I find it difficult to work out what the icons on my Air Conditioner remote control mean – does the snowflake mean it is cold outside, or that I want it cold inside.

One of the things we have done is gone through a lot of government reports and actually read them. What we found was that a lot of the time, there are some real gems contained in otherwise unimportant documents. Using these reports we have looked at here energy is being used, and come to an amazing conclusion

If you want to save energy, concentrate on the major areas of energy usage. Concentrating on things such as light-bulbs will not save much money, and will actually annoy people when their bills do not go down.

Basically, it is hard to save much money when you are concentrating on areas that do not consume much energy. For instance, in modern households, concentrating on light globes does not save much energy.
