What A Waste Of Energy

Being a rather nice April day here in Sydney with blue skies, I decided to walk down to the Post Office to get the mail and shops to get some bread for lunch. It was actually quite nice outside, with the temperature about 23-24C. In other words, outside it was basically ‘Room Temperature’. This is why it shocked me when I was walking past a school and found that their Air Conditioner was turned on. This really was not the type of weather where an Air Conditioner should be needed – either for heating nor for cooling. I just wonder how much energy is being wasted at times.

Not to be outdone, I was telling a friend about this, and he commented that he once came home to find that his wife had both units in their home running at once, one on heat and one on cool. I still cannot work out why this happened, but it did.

I guess the story from this is that people should think about their energy usage, and turn devices off when they really are not needed. Doing so will save a heap of money.
